All very true, but unfortunately, were a fake conclave to produce a true pope (ie., one unexpectedly orthodox in his public profession of faith), universal peaceful adherence would certainly be lacking, and the better bet would be universal violent opposition, as all the modernists aligned against him.

But I agree in theory that such a thing is at least conceivable.

True! Although such opposition would be from people whose opinion arguably would be neither here nor there.

I don't expect this to happen. In some ways the more primary point is the one made at the end: contra both anti-sedevacantists and thesis-ists, there is another means by which a true pope may be attained for the Church, without recourse to any rethought theology or theological novelties.

God is all powerful. We need to have confidence in him. If Christ can make the soldiers coming to arrest him bend the knee then he is certainly capable of making anything happen, including the above scenario.

Good analogy.

A solution that relies on faith and confidence in God and the people’s repentance and petitions to him that this might happen. One that doesn’t rely on merely human means.

Truly an apt way to end the crisis that arose due to a reliance upon human means (diplomacy) and the failure to heed heaven’s call and consecrate Russia.

Let us pray and beg God for it to happen 🙏🏻

This article covers the topic very thoroughly; we know that the Church is not a human but a divine institution, and that it will last until the end of the world with the same constitution with which Christ established it; so unless Our Lord is ready to make His final appearance in the near future, the Church cannot lose its ability to produce a Pope, and a Pope will be produced sooner or later.

Let it be an incentive to pray and do penance!
